Uru Ogwa women honours CEO Uche Samankwe Foundation, 22 others

In appreciation to their numerous philanthropic gestures in the development and upliftments of Uru Ogwa village in Isi Ogwa Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State, the Uru Ogwa women under the auspices of Uru Women Development Union has given meritorious award of excellence to distinguished sons and daughters of the revered but ancient community among whom are, the Founder & CEO of Uche Samankwe Foundation, Prince Uche Samuel Nnodim, his parents Ezinne Lolo Chinyere Nnodim and his late father Chief Okanumee Nnodim.
 The well attended occasion which happened last Saturday at the open field of the community’s Central School was part of the activities marking the women’s 2025 August meeting.
The historical gathering which is geared towards the unification of the women group and improvement on the progress of community, also brought together women, community leaders, and dignitaries from all works of life including the leadership of Uche Samankwe Foundation, led by its Programs Manager, Mr. Chijioke Umunnakwe.
The Foundation as part of their usual magnanimity, supported the women with 20 bags of 50kg rice, thus extending food palliative support to ease the economic burdens been faced by many less privileged families in the community.
 Umunnakwe pointed out that the mission of the Foundation is not only about giving but also reaffirming their commitments in empowering women, fostering community development and unity of purpose.
The event featured rich cultural displays, the unveiling of the official 2025 brochure, and generous donations from distinguished individuals and organizations.
Also speaking at the event, the Women Leader, Mrs. Kate Ohakam, expressed gratitude to the staff and management of Uche Samankwe Foundation’s for their continual philanthropic supports, emphasizing that such gestures strengthens the bonds of sisterhood and open new doors of opportunity for women in the community.
The highlight of the occasion was prayers for peace, progress and unity of the community as the women also expressed their willingness in all developmental efforts of the community.
Among the 23 honourees are Ezinne Lolo Chinyere Nnodim…her late husband, chief okanumee, who received a posthumous award for his noble contributions to URU community during his tenure as president general and her son, Prince Uche Sam Nnodim.. chairman, Uche Samanque foundation..
