2025 IMO ECONOMIC, INVESTMENT SUMMIT:
PRINCE DR ALEX MBATA HAILS GOVERNOR UZODIMMA’S VISION
Prominent industrialist and philanthropist, Prince Dr. Alex Mbata, last week Thursday joined global business leaders, policymakers and development partners at the just concluded Imo State Economic Summit 2025, held at the Concorde Boulevard, Owerri.
The summit, themed “Unlocking Imo’s Economic Potential: Partnership, Investment and Innovation,” drew an impressive list of high-profile participants, including former United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, Africa’s foremost industrialist, former British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Liberian President Joseph Boakai, leading international investors and top government officials.
The Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was represented by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Prince Mbata expressed delight over the strong presence of global innovators and investors, describing the summit as a transformative moment for Imo State’s economic future.
He praised Governor Hope Uzodinma for convening what he called “a historic gathering of global minds”, crediting the Governor for the vision and leadership that made the summit possible.
According to him, Governor Uzodinma has “broken records through projects that have redefined Imo’s development trajectory,” citing the Orashi Electricity Project, the Concorde Hilton Hotel Initiative, the state’s growing gas infrastructure, and several other strategic investments.
Mbata, a major contributor to industrial growth in Imo, urged citizens to continue to support the government’s development drive and avoid acts capable of undermining the state’s economic progress.
He emphasized that the success of the programmes unveiled at the summit will depend largely on collective commitment and a shared resolve to move Imo State forward.
