The Imo State House of Assembly yesterday Wednesday September 28, cleared two Commissioners designate submitted to it by Governor Rochas Okorocha in the new state executive formation.
Sir Jude Ejiogu by this confirmation now doubles as the Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Special Duties while Barrister Chukwuma Nwachukwu Umeh now becomes the Attorney General of the State and Commissioner for Justice.
Our House of Assembly correspondent reported that the screening and clearance of Sir Jude Ejiogu was one of the fastest in the series as he was only requested by the Legislators to take a bow.
This is contrary to the scenario where candidates are inundated with strict screening of such documents like certificates, tax papers and questions on various issues related to administration and governance.
This action of the Legislature may not be unconnected with past record of Sir Ejiogu who had held the position of Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue, Chairman Local Government Service Commission, and Chief of Staff, Government House before the recent dual appointment in the emerging state executive council.
