Bearing last minute scheming by Governor Rochas Okorocha and the quest for a Governor from Owerri Zone extraction in 2015, Dr Nwachukwu may have been anointed for the plum job.
Addressing the people of Ezinihitte Mbaise over the weekend during a grand reception for Commissioner for Public Utilities and Public Safety, Dr Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, Governor Okorocha appealed to the people to continue to support the Commissioner.
“Dr Ifeanyi Nwachukwu is my son in whom I am well pleased. I want you to continue to support and encourage him. He is one of my closest Commissioners. I am grooming him gradually for tomorrow”.
The Governor also used the occasion to drum support for his new found political party APC which he urged the people to embrace.
Speaking also, the wife of the Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha eulogized Dr Nwachukwu who she said has contributed tremendously towards the success of the Rescue Mission.
In his citation read by Barrister Ahaneku who is also the President General of Ezinihitte Development Association, Ahaneku said that Dr Nwachukwu has exhibited high level of altruism, patriotism, humility, populism, co-operation and resilience in his approach to issues.
In his response, Dr Nwachukwu thanked Governor Okorocha for given him the opportunity to be part of the Rescue Mission and appealed to his people to continue to support the administration in its effort to provide the dividends of democracy to the masses.
Highlight of the activity was the crowning of Dr Nwachukwu by the Royal Fathers of the area as the Aha Eji Aga Mba Ezinihitte in addition to his empowerment gifts to the masses.
