Task Before Anyaehie As Imo PDP Chairman
Since the end of the 2011 general elections in the country, the center has not held in Imo State and things falling apart in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
It appeared that the heavens had fallen because the party failed to win the Governorship election. This of course made some of its followers and membership who could not withstand being in opposition to join the then ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA.
However, some die-hard members of the party carried on with the party even as they operated as orphans both in character and action. But before the dust could settle down, the party started regaining its strength following some of the wrong stands of the present administration in the state.
The opposition actually started building up even within the ruling APGA family following the impeachment of the former Deputy Governor Sir. Jude Agbaso by the Imo State House of Assembly.
And since after that action which some still see till date as a set up, and the decamping of Governor Rochas Okorocha to All Progressive Congress APC, all could not be said to be well with APGA in Imo state.
While some of the members are still left in the lunge, others are either in the party another group in APC with Governor Okorocha or waiting in the wings.
With all these developments, PDP should see it as an ample opportunity to relaunch itself to power in Imo state in the forthcoming elections.
The exit of the former chairman Eze Duruiheoma (SAN) who failed to lead the party to victory in that Governorship election in 2011 and the coming on board of Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie, Imo PDP has another golden opportunity to reclaim the state.
But to do this, the Anyaehie and Nnawuihe leadership should be ready to swallow the bitter pills which of course is jettisoning all selfish and material tendencies.
They can only succeed by keeping their ears on the ground and hear the sound beat of the ants. Recycling of individuals in the system is one of the dangers which will deny the party the chances of regaining the state in future elections.
The new PDP leadership should shop for candidates with clean track records if it is desirous of reclaiming Imo state otherwise, the surprises of 2011 will repeat itself in 2015.
But fielding the same dead woods simply because they have a lot of money and gifts for the masses will be the party’s greatest albatross.
Whatever such people give out today, should be seen as paying for old services and opportunities given to them rather than a criteria for yet another opportunity.
The masses are prepared to give PDP in Imo state another chance but this is dependent on their choice of candidates in future elections. But if the new leadership fails to learn a lesson from the fig tree story, what happened to the party in 2011 in Imo State will repeat itself and they will be worse for it.

Aiyo Demands For Evacuation Of Massob Members
Corpses Abandoned In Mortuaries Since 2003

“In order to restore peace , sustain nascent unity of Ndi-Igbo, as Chairman of Imeobi Ohanaeze, pls Sir, direct Uwazurike, MASSOB leader to go to mortuaries in Igboland, particularly in Onitsha and collect the corpses of MASSOB members, members of AIYO killed in 2003, 2006, 2012, and 2013 while carrying out MASSOB acts.”
“We, Aiyo, Ndi Otu Jesus Christ Ji Ofo Na Ogu Alu OLu maka Odimma Ndi Igbo, hereby give Uwazurike & MASSOB ultimatum to use the millions that MASSOB members contributes monthly and the billions he receives allegedly from governments and politicians to give these dead members of MASSOB and AIYO Befitting Burial Now.”
“Despite appeals from Okpalaukwu, the leader for Peace, AIYO can no longer keep calm while MASOB abuse Ndigbo and kill us”
The message was sent by the National Co-ordinator of Association of Igbo Youths, Mazi Chukwuemeka James Ugah who claimed to be an ex-MASSOB General and Commander of MASSOB Security.
During the period Ohanaeze leaders met with President Jonathan at Abuja, the leaders of AIYO and MASSOB met with the President General and Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo , Chief Gary Igariwey and Dr Joe Nwaorgu respectively and other top Igbo leaders and they promised to look into the matter. They also participated in the presidential parley with Ohanaeze Chieftains but soon after the presidential visit, hostilities resumed.
It would be recalled that two months ago the Igbo Youths dragged MASSOB leader, Uwazurike to the Assistant Inspector General of Police in a petition where they alleged that the latter ordered the murder of 18 of their members in June 2013 for denouncing the extortionist activities of MASSOB. They alleged that Uwazurike has turned MASSOB into a business outfit which he uses to collect Billions of naira from politicians.
Following the tensions created by the petition, clerics under the aegis of GAAICOM mandated Rev Obinna Akukwe and other ministers to liaise with both MASSOB and AIYO to ensure that Igboland is not turned into a theatre of war at a time when other zones are preparing for 2015. The former Governor of Anambra State Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife and the proprietor of Rojenny Oba, Chief Remy Ezeonwuka also joined the clerics to intervene asking the aggrieved youths not to wash dirty linen in public.
