Heartland Risk Suspension over Changes
Heartland Football Club of Owerri is currently risking suspension from the League Management Company LMC and further penalties from the Nigeria Football Association NFF over the impending changes in the management of the Club.
According to the news making rounds that the Imo State Government has removed the Chairman of Heartland FC, Chief Fan Nduboke who is currently on clutches after a fatal accident while on duty in line with recent changes effected in all the State parastals and establishments, the former Federation Cup and League Champions risk suspension by the LMC as the action may have been done against rules and regulations guiding club ownership and management.
Although the Ministry of Youth and Sports manned by Comr Kenneth Emelu whose office controls the affairs of the club are yet to make any public statement over the matter, rumors have continued to trail the announcement of the of all heads of the State establishments including their account officers as they are strong indications that an Ideato-South born German based ex-footballer is being packaged to take over the affairs of the Naze- Millionaires.
Heartland which was formed in 1976 has never gone on relegation before but may suffer untold hardship if things are not handled properly as Kwara United is believed to be suffering today at the second division over the same changes in their management last season.
Meanwhile, information also has it that some other clubs in the State may face sanctions over what will be termed political interference in football which if it happens means that clubs like Pilo FC, Nek United, Patros FC, Busddor United and Barton (Police) FC who were involved in Fed Cup rookie play-off on Wednesday may suffer the same fate technically as every Heartland fan and soccer followers are keenly watching the development in Imo State.

The 2014 Imo State Football League came to a conclusive end on Tuesday May 12 with 2013 champions; Mbaise United retained their trophy beating first timers Chief Emma Okewulonu Fc from Obowo 3 0 to clinch the sole ticket of representing the State at the National Armature League 3 play-off from May 18.
Both teams made their way to the final with solitary victories over their semifinal opponents earlier on Monday simultaneously to set up the derby between Obowo and Ahiazu-Mbaise.
Meanwhile, praises and commendations have continued to pour in for the efforts of the newly formed Chief Emma Okewulonu Fc otherwise known as Ikeoha Boys for their ability to reach the State League final even after just coming together just 2 weeks before the league kicked-off.
Reacting to Trumpeta Sports Desk immediately after the encounter, the Ikeoha boys Team Manager, Barr Arinze thanked the proprietor Chief Emma Okewulonu who has been doing everything to ensure that the youths of Okigwe-South are giving a good platform to excel in their God giving talents adding that the players were picked on merit from the just ended Chief Emma Okewulonu’s Unity Cup Competition which ended before Easter believing that if giving time the team will go places.
Adding his voice, the General coordinator of the Team, Hon Basil Okewulonu though expressed disappointment over the loss but praised the efforts of the lads maintaining that Ikeoha 1 of Obowo has promised the boys of his unalloyed support adding that the team will bounce back to win many laurels in the State and the nation with the view of helping the boys get professional carriers in the Nigerian league and abroad.
