Oru West Stakeholders Back Opiah, say it its Ohaji/Egbema Turn To Produce Reps Member
Ahead of National Assembly elections scheduled for this weekend across the country, the leaders and political stakeholders of Oru West, one of the local government that make up Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency, have adopted and endorsed the candidature of Rt Hon Goodluck Nanah Opiah of the PDP.
In a resolution taken after a crucial assessment of the coming election, the leaders made up of the likes of Chief Peter Mgbenwelu, Barr Relp Nwosu, Chief John Frank Ugaliegbulem, Hon Fabian Ogbonna, Hon Collect Odenighbo and Chief Barr Barth okafor noted in a statement that Opiah is the right choice and all Oru West and indeed people of Oguta and Ohaji/Egbema LGAs should massively vote for the speaker emeritus of the Imo State house of Assembly.
Apart from Opiah’s rich legislative pedigree and expertise in constituency representation, Oru West leaders noted that it was the turn of Ohaji/Egbema to produce the next member of the Federal House for Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West federal constituency.
According to the stakeholders, “We have endorsed the candidate of the PDP, Rt Hon Goodluck Nanah Opiah and enjoined people of the area to vote massively for him. It is the turn of Ohaji/Egbema to produce the next Federal House member.
Trumpeta understands that the decision was reached after a careful review of the need to ensure equity, justice and fair play in the federal constituency as Opiah’s rich pedigree in legislative matters and effective representation warranted the endorsement against contenders from other parties”.
They further stated that “having agreed that Rt Hon Opiah is the right and anointed candidate to get the support and vote of the entire Oru West people in the March 28, National Assembly elections, the entire constituents are hereby asked to vote massively for the PDP candidate. This resolution stems from the fact that it will be the turn of Oru West after Opiah’s tenure, to produce the next House of Reps member for Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, Oru West Fed Constituency.
By this action, the leaders have jettisoned the ambitions of their kinsmen and women who joined the race for the seat including the Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly and APC candidate, Donatus Ozoemena.
