Chief Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe has received his certificate of Return as the House of Representatives member for Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise, Imo State.
The occasion was held Thursday April 16, 2015 at the INEC Office, Owerri Imo State. Chief Igbokwe is the current representative of Ahiazu Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and by this event he will be sworn in on the 28th of April 2015 for a second term in the House of Representatives.
It will be recalled that the federal seat was contested in the March 28 election, by nine (9) candidates namely Kelechi Osuagwu of Accord Party, Ihuoma Adaku Ngozi of APC, Bar. Steve Nwoga of APGA, Clement Louis Nwoke of Labour Party – LP, Chris Chibueze of NCP, Hon. Nnanna Igbokwe of PDP,. Dennis Chikek of PPA and Margret Uwazie of UPP.
Chief Igbokwe emerged winner by polling 32,318 votes to beat his closest rival Hon. Adaku Ihuoma of APC who polled 12,761 votes.
Addressing his constituents, relations, friends and aides at the occasion, Chief Igbokwe expressed gratitude to the people of Ahiazu Ezinihitte Mbaise for their overwhelming support and his re-election while dedicating his victory to God. promising greater performance in matters of the social welfare of the people, development of the constituency and effective representation for the good of the Nigerian nation.
