The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has described his opponent in the Governorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha as a desperate politician who is finding it difficult to accept defeat in the election which he (Rochas Okorocha) won with over ninety thousands votes.
Speaking in Owerri yesterday, Okorocha urged Ihedioha and his party, PDP to head to Tribunal if they are not satisfied with the result which INEC declared on April 26, 2015 after the supplementary election which held in the state on Saturday April 25, 2015.
Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker of House of Representative, had called a Press Conference on Sunday immediately the result was announced, but could not say categorically if he will challenge the result in court, but described the election as a slam which did not meet his expectation.
Ihedioha since after the election is yet to congratulate Okorocha five days after he was pronounced the winner by INEC.
Therefore, following Ihedioha’s stance on the election, Okorocha has urged him to head to Tribunal to make his case if he did not accept the verdict as pronounced by INEC on Sunday.
Sources told Trumpeta that since Ihedioha was yet to congratulate hand-shake with Okorocha, there is the possibility that he may go to court.
Close Aides to the Deputy Speaker told this Newspaper that the lawmaker is still studying the results and may make his decision known before the end of the week; whether to congratulate Okorocha or file for litigation.
