2019 Guber: Araraume Invades PDP camp . Poaches Top Shots

It is no longer news that two-time Senator who represented Okigwe zone and now APC chieftain, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume is angling to be Imo State governor, but making an in road into the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, political family where some of its leaders have joined his Destiny Organization bandwagon.

Araraume, a federal Commissioner in FCT, Abuja, has nothing hidden intention to run for the governorship of the state in 2019 using the APC platform, Despite opposition his rumoured ambition is facing in APC, the former governorship candidate of defunct ACN is unrelenting in furthering his ambition for the next election.

After two tenures as Senator, Araraume emerged the governorship candidate of PDP in 2007 but was unsuccessful in 2011, he ported to APC and emerged the ACN flagbearer before returning to PDP in 2015 and asked for the guber ticket. On losing the mandate, Araraume defected to APC and has become a major factor in the party.

Sources close to the Senator who has taken his governorship ambition to the United States of America, USA, said that Araraume is exploiting his old links in PDP to get some notable top shots of the party to his side.

Trumpeta was reliably informed that some notable figures in PDP who have associated with him in past and played active roles during the 2015 Destiny Organization days are already warming up to join him in APC when the battle gets intense.

A sign that the Senator has infiltrated the rank and file of the PDP is the presence of top PDP top shots at his major functions recently. Apart from the presence a notable media professional who served Ohakim at Araraume’s event, (names withheld) the involvement of General Chikwea retired Army Chief and former PDP Chief of Owerri zone, in the Houston USA tour of the Senator gives credence to the Senator’s invasion. Chikwe was said to be among those involved in the “Houston Declaration” where a coalition in Houston Texas massively endorsed Araraume to occupy Douglas House in 2019. Among PDP to shots behind the Senator are Gen C.N Chikwe, Kingsley Ufere, Ethelbert Okwaranyia, Independence Ogunare and Ada Egbufor.
