Tension in Imo APC Over Release of Congress Dates .As Okorocha Meets Rescue Mission Stakeholders in Govt Houses

A new wave of uncertainty is reigning in the Imo State chapter of APC as the national secretariat in Abuja has released time table for congresses and convention of the party.

In the programme of events released to the public ward congresses holds on Wednesday 2nd May 2018, while LGA and State Congress are scheduled for Saturday May 5th and Wednesday 9th May respectively. The National Convention is for Monday 14th May.

A notice from the National Secretary, Hon Mai Mala Buni indicates that a special Local Government Congresses to elect delegates to the convention shall be organized. More so, the release asked INEC to monitor proceedings.

Meanwhile, the release of the dates has instituted fear of the unknown in the minds of major stakeholders battling for the control of party structure.

Trumpeta learnt that the camp of the Governor of the State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who has been sitting pretty edgy since the latest development that saw the Senator for Okigwe zone, Senator Ben Uwajumogu emerge congress and convention secretary, has been having secret meetings to review the forthcoming congresses.

The Governor met with two representations of Rescue Mission members of APC from each of the 27 LGAs to fine tune strategies ahead the party event.
