Indications emerged over the weekend that the former Governor of Imo State Chief Ikedi Ohakim whose political alignment in the new political equation has been in doubt, may have finally settled down with the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA.

This position of Chief Ohakim no doubt has put to rest speculations over the political tenth of the former Governor.

Addressing APGA faithful from Owerri zone at the country home of a frontline Governorship aspirant of the party Barrister Humphrey Anumudu at Obilubi-Mbieri in Mbaitoli local government over the weekend, Chief Ohakim described Barrister Anumudu as the best of the APGA Governorship aspirants for the 2019 elections.

Chief Ohakim who went down memory lane to express his appreciation to Anumudu who he said went out of his way based on conviction and took him to Rev.Fr Ejike Mbaka in Enugu in 2011 and settled his rift with the man of God by his persecutors described Anumudu as a true Patriot.

Saying that if he has all the opportunities to make Anumudu the next Governor of the State, that he will have no hesitation in doing that. Adding that, “Barrister Anumudu is the only living Nigerian who plays the politics of the founder of the defunct GNPP, Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri of politics without bitterness and rancour”.

The former Governor who however said that he would have loved to take another shot at the Governorship contest to complete his tenure, explained that Anumudu is a man of his words who will not lie to Imo people.

In his words, “All hands should be on deck until Anumudu becomes the next Governor of Imo State”. And therefore urged APGA and Imolites to follow Barrister Anumudu just like Mary the mother of Jesus Christ instructed his disciples in the bible, “ whatever Humphrey asks you to do, do it” Ohakim advised.

Ohakim however regretted that if the people of Owerri zone had listened to Barrister Anumudu in 2011 and voted him for his second term, that the quest for a Governor from Owerri zone extraction today would have been made easier.

And urged Anumudu to remain steadfast in his quest to contribute in the new Imo State of the people’s dream.

Responding, Barrister Anumudu said that he lacks words to express his delight over the encomiums by Chief Ohakim. And thanked him for his kind words and support.
