Henry Njoku Declares For Owerri Zone Senatorial Position ……… Pledges Effective, Sustained Representation

Following his declaration, at the Ward and Local Government, an aspirant under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Barr. Henry Ndubuisi Njoku has further reiterated his interest to fly the party’s flag in his bid to represent Owerri senatorial zone, come 2019, pledging effective representation in the interest of Owerri zone.

The declaration was made before the State Chairman, Barr. Peter Ezeobi, party executives at the state and zonal level, LG chairmen of the zone and party faithfuls at the party complex, Egbu road, Owerri.

Speaking, the aspirant promised to speak fearlessly the interest of Imo East at the nation’s senate, adding that as an unrepentant Igbo man, he would not allow anyone speak for or through him.

As part of his oversight functions when elected, Barr. Henry Njoku maintained that there would be no abandoned projects in the zone, he stated that he would beef up efforts to ensure that laws protecting federal projects are looked into and projects are followed to implementation and execution.

He also promised to use the Owerri Parliament which he aim to set up, to address burning issues in bridging the gap and revive, reawaken political consciousness in the zone, while further promising to make at least 1000 youths, 100 from each LG, gainfully employed in Abuja, as he appealed for their support.

In his speech, the State Chairman, Barr. Peter Ezeobi advised members of the party to ensure they get their PVCs as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has given a deadline for exercise.

He advised aspirants to have that oneness in their pursuit for elective positions, while charging Barr. Njoku to familiarise with LG leaders in his zone and ensure his presence is felt.

The Zonal Chairman, Chief Rowland Okoro who stated that the 2019 elections would no longer be a personal affair but a party affair, advised the aspirant to ensure he carries leaders of the zone along in all he does, in line with the party’s rules and guidelines.

He also assured that, the State Chairman has promised all aspirants the level playing ground, which he said would be in a free, fair and transparent primaries, affirming that on that promise they all stand.
