A resolution reached after the Executive session of the councilors at the council Hall, Okwe, under the leadership of Hon Sylvanus Ejemerue, the council legislative arm disclosed that “Onuimo legislative council has not and does not have any intention to mandate, authorize, direct or appoint anybody to negotiate or act on its behalf in the above issue”

According to the resolution signed by Ejemenu, leader and nine others, the councilors view it as an “act of wickedness for any arrangement excluding or which does not consider the interest of all political appointees of the Onuimo LGA. Any person or group of person who goes into any form of negation does so at his/her own risk”

While passing a vote of confidence on Imo ALGON, the councilors expressed happiness at the leadership of PDP both at the national, state and LGA levels.

In the same vein, Ikeduru legislative council has also passed a similar resolution to reject the two – month’s salaries offered by government as announced by Information Commissioner.

They claimed that since salaries /allowances of LG officials, appointees and civil servants are not paid at the ministry of local government and their chairman, Chief Hon Sam Aka not invited to endorse such instruments as cheques and vouchers, they will not be part of the exercise.

According to the councilors, Information Commissioner, Chinedu Offor misfired by referring to them as “former” LG officials and claiming that they have served out their tenure whereas a court of competent jurisdiction is still determining the matter in court.

The councilors, in a statement signed by Hon Justice Nzeh leader, Ikeduru legislative council stated that the invitation by Hon Stan Dara led committee of Imo House of Assembly amounts to contempt of court.
