Except urgent measures are taken this week, the Ideato clan would be cut off from the rest of Imo State with motorists risking suicide for attempting to use the ever busy Orlu – Ideato Road by Mgbee town that links Orlu town with communities in Ideato South and Ideato North is in a terrible condition. The federal road has been cut into two, no thanks to a devastating erosion attack that has made a mincemeat of the road which is the gateway to Anambra state via Uga.

When Imo Trumpeta took a study tour of the deteriorated road, ominous signs that road users connecting Ideato from Orlu especially people of the area including Governor Rochas Okorocha will soon be denied access to their country homes due to the poor state of the road.

What however disturbed passers – by who managed to cross the gully ditch said to be more than 100 feet underground was that the erosion began to manifest the dangerous signs last year but remained unattended by relevant government agencies including the present state government which made road construction part of its cardinal program.

Besides, it was expected that the road would have been rescued by Okorocha’s administration taken into consideration that it leads to his town and the fact that the governor has been touching some federal roads in the state as part of his Imo Must Be Better agenda.
