Governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha has vehemently warned the newly appointed local government caretaker committee members against indulging into any unwholesome behaviour that may reduce the rate of development in their respective local government councils.
Governor Okorocha made this disclosure while addressing the T.C chairmen and the newly inaugurated city development committees in the 27 local government of Imo State.
The governor implored them to see their appointment as an opportunity to elevate and transform their local government. “Today I welcome you as a part of the rescue team, may I urge you to put up a new leadership quality devoid of rancour and political tension, you are aware that I’m doing well without you and will not hesitate to remove whoever that may undermine development at the grassroot”
He also told the chairmen to always make consultation with their members in decision making and get them committed by assigning portfolio to them.
Governor Okorocha also said the new town Development committees will compliment the efforts of the state and local government so as to ensure that the 1112 identified new cities are rapidly developed towards making Imo a one city state.
