War in CNPP; As members attack Secretary

The Chairman, Labour Party (LP)ImoStateChapter Barr. C.S. Osuji has condemned the recent publication made in a local tabloid credited by the Secretary of Conference of Nigeria Political parties (CNPP)/Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) Imo State Chapter, Mazi Elias Chukwuemeka alleging that CNPP/IPAC has disowned its chairman Elder Chinedu Ukadike and appointed Barr CS. Osuji as Chairman of CNPP/IPAC.

Barr Osuji while addressing newsman shortly after their meeting at CNPP/IPAC office in Owerri said that CNPP/IPAC has never in any way appointed him the chairman of the association nor mandated him to retrieve any property in the custody of Hon. Ukadike as the Chairman of the association.

Barr. Osuji disclosed that CNPP/IPAC has concluded arrangements to conduct election for the new executives of the association on the 24th October 2012 and wondered why Mazi Chukwuemeka should make such a careless statement that can cause havoc in the association.

He described the act as a calculated attempt to undermine his intention to contest for the position of Chairman of CNPP/IPAC and warned Mazi Chukwuemeka to desist from such act.

Also speaking, the Chairman All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Imo State Chapter, Prince Marshal Okeafor Anyanwu described the publication as a curious disrespect to the association and made it clear that Mazi Chukwuemeka is not credible to be part and parcel of the association, adding that CNPP/IPAC did not in any way resolved or appointed Barr. C.S Osuji as Chairman of the Association.

Prince Okeafor Anyanwu said that on-coming election for the new executives of CNPP/IPAC will offer the association an opportunity to elect credible people to pilot the affairs of the association and urged the aspirants to follow due process in all their dealings to enable the electoral committee to conduct a credible election.

Also speaking the Chairman of the electoral committee, Nze Ken Opara promised that the committee will conduct a credible election as he revealed that the committee has put in place adequate measures that will enable them conduct free and fair elections.

Nze Opara stressed the need for the aspirant to comport themselves very well to enable the committee discharge its duties without fear and favour.

Adding his voice, Mr. Dim Patrick urged Maize Elias Chukwuemeka to desist from instigating problems that are capable of causing problems in the association to enable the association achieve its objectives.
