A media practitioner Mr Fabian Anyanwu has petitioned the Nigeria Police Force, NPF of alleged threat of life and attempts by one Victor Eke to covet his property.
Anyanwu, an Information Officer in one of the Ministries in the state, in a letter dated July 2nd 2020, petition addressed to the Police Commissioner Imo State Command and made available to Trumpeta wrote;
“I am Onyekachi, Fabian Anyanwu. A native of Umuokele, Egbelu-Umuhu Autonomous Community in Enyiogugu, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. A Christian, Civil Servant and a law abiding citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I wish to bring to your notice, the continued threat to life and personal property of members of my family by one Mr. Victor Eke, of the same village (Umuokele).
“It was in the afternoon of Tuesday, June, 16, 2020 that my younger brother by name, Odinaka Samuel Anyanwu, a secondary school leaver and 21 years of age called me on phone while I was in the office and complained to me how the said Mr. Victor Eke attacked him and my little son, Master Somtochukwu, Elvis Nzewunwa in the farm where they were weeding grasses and applying fertilizers.
“According to my younger brother Odinaka, they were in our farm working when Mr. Eke Victor came and started asking who was working there. He responded that he was the one and he (Victor) flared and almost assaulted them.
“On the process, he told him that he (Victor) would get his boys to assassinate him and the other members of my family within two months. He told the boy that he is not a member of our community and that he was picked from the dust bin. He boasted how he has been a militant in Port Harcourt, Rivers state for so many years before his return to the village and how he has been into juju practice and gun running over the years.
“Earlier on January 4, 2018, the said Victor Eke had threatened to “kill” members of my family. He had boasted that he would use his “boys” to wipe out my family. I reported the matter casually to our traditional ruler who even advised me to report the matter officially to – security agents but, I did not because, I thought he was making an empty threat. Now that he has continued with the threats, I now know that he means every word that he has spoken especially with the spate of criminal activities in the society.
“Anyanwu pleaded with the State Police Commissioner to “use your good offices to call Mr. Victor Eke to order and ensure the safety of lives and property of members of my family. He should as well, be made to show us the “dust bin” from where my brother, Odinaka was picked.”
The letter was also copied to the traditional ruler of Egbele Umuhu Autonomous Community and Chairman of Imo State Union of NUJ.
