Community policing has become a serious crisis hitting Imo Local Government Areas since two weeks now.
Our reporter gathered that there was fracas and clash between Interim Management Committee Chairmen and Traditional rulers over the weekend concerning the community policing issue.
This community policing as we gathered was slated to be at the centre of meeting of the Royal fathers at Council Headquarters over the weekend, but the IMC chairmen somehow resisted the Traditional Rulers from coming to Council halls to unveil the lists of those recruited for community police job.
The worst hit is  said to be Ezinihitte LGA where the council boss was accused of  completely caging out the Traditional Rulers coming together to unveil those they selected.
According to our source IMC Chairmen of nine local government areas of Owerri zone were alleged to have selected only their loyalists as members of the community policing, the IMC chairmen were said to have on their own prepared a paralled list and favoured their Aides.
In Ihitte Uboma LGA and other LGAs of Okigwe zone the same thing took place.
The two different groups, prepared their lists for the community policing but due to clash of interest the LGAs are said to be unfair now.
The IMC chairmen of the LGA were expected to work with the Royal father. But surprisingly when the Traditional Rulers went to the council for the scheduled meeting they got disappointed as the IMC chairmen locked them out of the council headquarters.
Trumpeta  gathered that the council chairmen have gone ahead to submit their list to Government House.
Against this back drop, the Royal fathers have planned to protest against the IMC chairmen without delay.
Imo Royal fathers were said to have penciled down list of IMC chairmen that will be given to governor for suspension for the alleged embarrassment of Traditional Ruler and IMC chairmen of Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA topped the list.
The 12 LGAs of  Orlu zone are also protesting on the list of those recruited for community policing. Villagers have raised serious alarm on this issue (community policing).
They have warned the State Governor on the danger of inversion of Imo communities by Fulani herdsmen.
