Covid 19 Fear Hits Imo Assembly .Speaker May Shut Down Complex

As the coronavirus disease otherwise called Covid-19 is spreading like a wild fire, the Imo State House of Assembly Speaker Rt Hon Paul Emeziem and his members are said to be living in perpetual fear since the new wave began.
The Speaker according to information is considering it necessary to take proactive measures than being reactive and as a result may call for a long recess of the Assembly.
Many Lawmakers since last year have been avoiding sitting in the complex because of the return of the coronavirus coupled with the past experience they had when a good number of the House members were said to be tested positive.
The new wave as we gathered has brought fear again in Imo State generally especially at the House of Assembly complex located at Ikemba Ojukwu complex new Owerri.
There are also indications the Lawmakers may be force to go for compulsory tests as alternative measure for the planned recess.
Many are saying that there is serious need to fumigate the State House of Assembly and other government establishments immediately.
Some of the staff of Imo House of Assembly who spoke to our reporter expressed fear on the new wave of coronavirus in Imo and appealed the governor to do something fast to reduce the spread.
Report shows that there is serious increase in the death rate in the State as a result of the return of coronavirus in Imo.
