Suspected cattle rearers, believed to be herdsmen from the northern part of the country have been accused to have wrecked havoc at Umueze Emere in Irete, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.
Trumpeta gathered that the herdsmen allegedly destroyed a plantation belonging to a corporative society and ran away with their cows afterwards.
Information revealed that over N50m worth of crops were allegedly destroyed at the farm of the multi-purpose corporative society Ltd.
The herdsmen who were said to have come in their number were well armed with sophisticated weapon as the graze their animals from late evening and throughout the night destroying everything in sight.
Our source revealed over 7000 stands of plantain, banana and other crops worth over N50m have been destroyed by the herdsmen.
