Except there is a miracle by the voters in Ihiala and other areas election will continue in Anambra State today, it appears that the governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma who took charge of the campaign of APC candidate for the Anambra governorship election has played a losers game going by the situation report received so far.

At the emergence of Senator Andy Ubah as APC governorship candidate in Anambra, Uzodinma became in charge of the campaign courtesy of the National Caretaker Committee of the party.

In the build up to the elections, the governor of Imo State showcased enough political capacity in the marketing and drawing of supporters to Ubah.

Apart from being behind the movement of about six APGA lawmakers to APC, he was said to have engineered the defection of the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Nwankwo and all PDP LGA chairmen of the LGAs.

Going by the manner he succeeded in becoming the governor of Imo State after he came fourth in the election, there were palpable fear that Uzodinma would spring special magical wards to deliver Ubah in Anambra.

Results so far announced by the INEC in Anambra indicate that Uzodinma may finally return to Imo State without delivering the APC candidate who so far is third on the log based on results released so far.

A Trumpeta correspondent monitoring the conduct of the election  in       Anambra report that in the result of the 20 out of the 21 LGAs released, APGA’s Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo is leading with 103,940 votes ahead PDP’ Valentine Ozigbo who pulled 51,322 votes Uzodinma’s Uba had 42, 942 votes.

Predictions are high that Soludo will at the end of the conduct of the supplementary election emerge victorious. And the implication of the outcome of the election is that similar to what befell Uzodinma last year he was incharge of the APC candidate’s election in Edo State, he has encountered another failure trying to market the ruling party to victory in Anambra State. Due to insecurity situation, elections could not hold in Ihiala LGA. But INEC has announced that it would conduct the election today (Tuesday).

The result being awaited is that if Ihiala to complete the 21 LGAs of Anambra State.
