At a meeting held at the home of Hon. Ohanele Casmir in Eziala Nguru Mbaise recently, the Nguru Political Forum, the Apex political organization of the 5 clans of Nguru in Aboh Mbaise L.G.A comprising 3 INEC wards and 9 Autonomous Communities, harped on the need for equity in political leadership of Imo state. The body which cuts across all political parties threw in their supports for Owerri Zone for Governor in 2015 noting that equity is the only thing that can bring harmony in the politics of Imo state and put marginalization of a section to a check.
At the well attended meeting of seasoned grass-roots politicians the President General of the forum (NPF) Hon. Clobis Iwuchukwu called on members to see politics not as a do or die affair but as a way of rendering service to humanity. While analyzing the 4th tier system of Governor Rochas Okorocha and the failed elections into the CGC government, Nguru Political forum stated that they are studying events with keen interest and urging members to be very active in ensuring that the interest of Nguru people are not jeopardized by any administration.
A member of the forum Comrade Raph Ajuzieogu called on politicians to serve with the fare of God. He advised those who are voted into positions not to look down at the interest of the people who helped to ensure their victory.
Addressing the mammoth gathering, one of the patrons of the forum Dr. Aloysius Aguwa, the former Commissioner for the Petroleum and Environment in Imo State, advised members to play politics without bitterness. He noted that people should look at the pedigree of those seeking political position and support only credible candidates. He also commended Nguru Political Forum for building political bridges and championing the political interest of Nguru people in the overall political picture of the state and the Nation. Dr. Aguwa assured the forum of his continued support.
While thanking the patron, Mr. Abanulo, the former Vice President of the forum and present Chairman of the ACN in Aboh Mbaise commended Dr. Aguwa for his advice and support noting that the people of Nguru are proud of his record in public service.
Addressing members of the forum, the host Hon. Ohanele Casmir (Casca) commended members for their dedication to the interest of Nguru. He emphasized on the need for politicians to always stand up against injustice and support good policies and programmes of government.
The journalist cum politician charged politicians to support equity but advised that it should not be an excuse for mediocrity.
Some of the members who attended the meeting include; Hon. Cletus Ugwo, the immediate past President of the forum and the Vice Chairman, Aboh Mbaise LGA, Hon. Richmond Osuji, Hon. Obinna Njoku, Hon. Chief Flavain Acholonu all past Chairmen of Aboh Mbaise, Hon. Edwin Elegalam councilor representing Nguru Nwenkwo and his Nguru nweke counter part Hon. Chuks Ikwu, others are; Chief Hygi Ufomadu APGA leader in Nguru nweke, Chief Calistus Ibeto PDP ward Chairman Nguru Nweke, Chief Steve Anyanwu PDP Chairman Nguru Nwenkwo, Mr. Ihejirika and host of other distinguished politician in Nguru clan.
