The maiden edition of Awaka -Ihitte Ward Unity Cup Competition in the Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State has been scheduled to kick-off on Wednesday, 29th March, 2023 at the Ihitta Central School field by 4.oo in the evening.
A release by the Competition Co-ordinator, Mr Osondu Nwaneri, says the competition is being sponsored by an eminent and progressive-minded son of the soil, Mr Frankline Chinedu Opara, a community leader/ philanthropist who is a bona-fide son of Ndegbelu Awaka.
According to the release, the essence of the competition is to engender comradeship, unity of purpose and brotherliness among youths of the sister communities.
The release further added that the competition is to re-invent the youths to gainfully beneficial purposes to take them away from social vices among others.
The release enjoins the general public to find time to attend to enjoy the beautiful soccer to be displayed during the competition which will take seven marches while the finals takes place on Holy Saturday at Amapu Central School field by 4.oo pm dot.
