..Lauds Gov Uzodinma’s Unflinching Support On Sports Devt

The Imo State Sports Commission Chairman, Prince Sir Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna “Ambassador” has saluted His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hop Uzodinma for providing the Sports Commission and the Sports Ministry a suitable and working platform which indeed propelled our Heartland’s quick return to the nation’s elite football league, the NPFL.

Prince Ogbonna also commended the team’s Management team, the Technical Crew and the Players for their ‘Spartans’ spirit through out the league games which earned them an unbeaten run so far in the league.

While also congratulating the Supporters Club, the Colombian Fans and Imolites for resounding victory, Prince Ogbonna noted that the Naze Millionaires quick return to the elite League is a sure prove of the Governor’s deep and unflinching desire to use sports as a veritable tool to drive development in the state and to empower Imo youths.

He stressed that Governor Uzodinma’s love for the Youths has long been very evident especially with the “Talent Hunt” Programme of the Imo Sports Commission he graciously approved as those selected during the exercise will soon be traveling out to Europe for professional exposure.

In his words;

“The achievement of Heartland FC at Asaba especially their unbeaten run goes a long way to buttress the Governor’s love and desire to make Imo number one again in sports.

“Recall that the 3R mantra of Recovery, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation has been extended to all sectors including sports and that’s why in the Imo Sports Commission, we have engaged our partners in Europe to help the cause and actualize Governor’s dream of making Imo number one in sports again.

“It might interest us to also know that the promotion of Heartland FC back to the NPFL is hot on the heels of His Excellency’s consent to Imo Youths who were carefully selected during the Talent Hunt Programme a couple of weeks ago to travel out soon to Europe for professional exposure.

“I sincerely wish to use this medium to salute our Dynamic and Performing Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma “Onwa Oyoko” for his unflinching love and support to the Sports Commission and Sports generally in Imo.

“All these and many more  infrastructural developmental strides that His Excellency, Gov Uzodinma has graciously been undertaking selflessly in just about 3 years in Office despite some unnecessary distractions from haters of good governance is the major reason why we have passed a vote of confidence in the Imo Sports Commission stating that the, Chief Pilot of the ‘3R’ and ‘Shared Prosperity’ mantra must be returned back to office for a second term come November 11, 2023 Imo Governorship Election.

The Sports Commission Boss however urged the team to go all out again today, Friday when they take on Kano Pillars FC for the NNL trophy and properly achieve the ‘invisible’ like Arsenal FC did some years back in the EPL.

Heartland defeated Sporting FC of Lagos 2-1 to top Group A of the NNL Super 8 playoffs at Asaba, Delta state to book a ticket back to the elite league along side, Kano Pillars FC who also topped Group A, Sporting FC of Lagos and Katsina United FC.
