In apparent bid not to become an old story in the politics of Imo State, the political camp of a former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha has commenced moves to revive its structures.

The move, according to Tumpeta findings is to regain balance in the political permutations and be strong to be counted for the next general election.

Okorocha’s political family came into being in 2011 when the former governor became number one citizen of the state.

It was strong and can be said to be widely known political structure that reigned during the eight years tenure of Okorocha. It constituted of the political class that were appointees of Rescue Mission government, hence, they were branded the Rescue Missionaries.

But moments Okorocha left power in Government House, Owerri, his structures began to crumble. Despite his position as a Senator for Orlu zone, most of his foot soldiers and disciples scattered into other camps signaling death of the once famous Rescue Missionaries group.

Four years after, the group is about to be revived as it had a recent meeting at the home Okorocha.

Speculation is rife that the revival of the group by Okorocha is for a great return to the political scene in Imo and strong message that his allies have something up their sleeves for 2024.

Though, it gave support for Tinubu at the national and Uzodimma in Imo including the APC, fears remain that he is gathering the structures to remain a force to reckon in not just Imo politics but what happens in next general election.

The meeting held on Saturday which had Chief Uche Nwosu, among other issues, agreed to be committed to the progress of APC as a party.
