Mbaitolu People are living on fear – Hon Ndunagu

The member representing Mbaitolu state constituency at Imo House of Assembly, Hon Victor Ndunagu has lamented to the House on the insecurity and crime in Mbaitolu Local Government Area.  He said this at the House of Assembly session.  Hon Ndunagu asked the House to use their good office and see that more police stations are built in Mbaitolu because it has only one police post.  He pointed out that Mbaitolu monarchs are in danger, as they are kidnapped and at times killed.  He reminded the House that the present Chairman of Council of Traditional Rulers in Imo state, Eze Agunwa Ohiri was kidnapped about two years ago and lost his father and immediate elder brother on the process.  He also informed them that there is no peace in Umueze Abazu Ogwa Autonomous Community as a result of killing of their monarch, Eze Stanley Akuneto, by three persons of which two were caught and burnt to death by the youths of the community.  Hon Ndunagu reaffirm that Mbaitolu as the Local Government with highest number of people and 34 Autonomous communities, ought to have an increased number of surveillance patrol van which he agreed; scare hoodlums away.

The Deputy Speaker – Pharm Donatus Ozoemena, joined in condemning the act of kidnapping and security lapses in Imo state.  He advised that the Government should ensure that our vigilantes are funded to help fight this menace.
