Amidst the reports trailing the name re-shuffled for the Community Government Council (CGC) list which was earlier published, indigenes of Isiala mbano have now shown a great sigh of relief as they were inaugurated.
Inaugurating the Isiala Mbano CGC at the Isiala Mbano Local Government Council Headquarters Umelemai, last Wednesday, the SOLAD Hon. Uzodinmma Osondu, apologized to the people for the delay, adding that it was due to the Exco meeting held at the Government House Owerri since morning. He pointed out that the selected members of the CGC were going to be under probation for one month, as there can be changes based on their performances in office within the one month probation.
In a brief interview with the Newsmen, the SOLAD of Isiala Mbano L.G.A Hon. Uzodinmma Osondu Nnana, expressed his delight, stressing that despite various threat calls made to him to distort the inauguration, it went successfully without hitches. He congratulated and advised the newly inaugurated CGC members of Isiala Mbano, to be proactive in discharging their duties as it is not business as usual.
Speaking, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Mrs. Adora Ijezie, also apologized for the delay, stating that the Isiala Mbano is unique and different. She pointed out the aims and objectives of the CGC Government, stating it clearly that the CGC Government is not a political structure, but an umbrella that houses all the citizens of Imo state.
She went further to inform the people of Isiala Mbano, that through the CGC Government, a hectare of land will be provided by each Community to the Ministry of Agriculture for the improvement of the Agricultural Sector in their Communities, she also rolled out the CGC anthem, which according to her will be on the lips of every CGC member for its effectiveness.
Speaking also, the Chairman of Okigwe Zonal Council of Traditional Rulers and Deputy Chairman Imo state Council of Ndi Eze, Eze Dr. Mathew Onweni made it clear that reports filed in recently concerning “Mbano on fire” has been defeated with the efforts of the present Administration of Owelle Anayo Okorocha and the SOLAD of the Isiala Mbano Local Government Hon. Uzodinmma Osondu Nnana, as the inauguration of the new CGC members were peacefully conducted, he also thanked the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere for his support to the people, pointing out that the GCG will be more effective and efficient with the presence of the Traditional Rulers, because they stand as mediators between the state and the local government, “we will do everything possible to avoid intruders in our communities to prevent vicious crimes that slows the pace of development in the communities” he said.
Speaking earlier, Eze Obinna Onuoha stated that part of the functions of the traditional rulers in the CGC Government is to ensure that all the members under the CGC Government are properly guided, with the norms, belief, tradition and culture of the Igbo race in other to attain optimum results. And thanked the Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his effort in bringing the Government to the grass-root.
