In line with the predictions of this newspaper that heads will definitely roll over recent developments concerning the alleged N458m bribe which has continued to rock the polity, some members of the Imo State House of Assembly have become guests of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja.

Following certain revelations made by the prime suspect and tormentor-in-chief of the whole episode, Joseph Dina who was grabbed and quizzed by the EFCC over his involvement in the whole saga, the attention of the members of the Ad Hoc Committee set up by the Speaker to probe contract scandal was sought for certain clarifications, while an in-law to the state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha (names withheld) as well as a political appointee in the state government and Chairman of the project Monitoring Committee of the state, Prince Macdonald Akanno are telling the commission what they know about the deal.

It would be recalled that desperate efforts of the sacked Deputy Governor, Jude Agbaso and his elder brother, Martin to prove that the younger Agbaso is innocent, unearthed startling revelations on the whereabouts of the N458m in contrast to the alleged make-believe of the state assembly that Jude allegedly collected bribe from Joseph Dina.

It was learnt that Okorocha’s in law said to be from Abia State may have played a role in JPROS grabbing the contract the state government while Akanno who is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Projects Monitoring is involved based on reported details that he is a major shareholder in JPROs, the company in the center of the storm.

The lawmakers were invited to explain their role with regards to the probe report which hitherto indicted the impeached Deputy Governor. Three members of the House led by the Ad Hoc Committee Chairman, Hon Simeon Iwunze  were spotted at the EFCC premises on Tuesday when the had their turn in the hands of the agents operatives who grilled for hours. Those who joined Iwunze to the Abuja trip are newly wedded SamDaddy Anyanwu who cut his honeymoon short to face EFCC interrogators and Ikenna Emeh of Isu constituency.
