HON CHUKWU SUES FOR PEACE IN OHAJI/EGBEMA

The member representing Ohaji/Egbema in the Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Luke Chukwu has enjoined people of the area to sheath their sword and embrace peace and harmony.

Speaking during a stakeholders meeting he called at his Umuapu country home for APGA stakeholders in the area, Chief Chukwu said that peace and unity is necessary for the area to attain even development.

 

Speaking during the stakeholders meeting, Chukwu said “it is my pleasure to summon all of you to enable us has a collective re-think on some burning issues in this area and work in synergy to ensure that Ohaji/Egbema people benefit from what belongs to them in Imo State. Though, it might be an offence that I dumped my former party, PDP for APGA where I won House of Assembly seatin 2011 election. May I use this opportunity to say sorry to those who might feel that I have offended them in one way or the other.

 

“My political opponent, Hon Goodluck Opiah has been taking me from one court to another challenging my victory at which the case will be heard on 18th of this month in Abuja Supreme Court”

 

 

On the need to embrace peace, Chief Chukwu advised aggrieved persons to make a U-turn about their clamour for crisis and be part of the progress story of the LGA nothing that Ohaji/Egbema is the treasure base of the state with a land mass of about 945/0 km square which deserves more LGAs to enable the citizens benefit from more dividends of democracy.

 

The former Ohaji/Egbema council boss noted that the incoming CGC would be an avenue for reconciliation among those who have problems in the their communities stating that the CGC appointees should eandevour to make peace and respect their traditional rulers.

 

 

Earlier, the Sole Administrator of the council, Chidi Ariaga described the lawmaker’s action as a welcome development stating that his office would be open on weekend’s to attend to constituency related matters.

 

Adding his voice, CGC secretary for Umuagwo autonomous community, Sir Mike Nwobi stressed that the much-needed reconciliation among Ohaji/Egbema people should be extended to all levels of persons especially the political class.

 

Those who attended the meeting include the Commissioner for Petroleum and Environment, Emma Ekweremba, SA Niger Delta, Eric Nwanoroh, former member who represented Ohaji/Egbema in the House, Dr Goddy Esom Obodo, political leader, Nze Hillary Ihueze , APGA Chairman Ohaji/Egbema, Sir Eugene Obi and traditional rulers.
