“Team Ohakim” visits Late Tony Uzukwu’s Family

Members of “Team Ohakim”, comprising of former members of the State Executive, Council Local Government Chairmen Former Members of House of Assembly Cordinator of Development Centres, Supervisory Councilors, Councilors, Chairmen and members of Boards, Directors of New Face of Imo NFO and others, paid a condolence visit to the family of Late Commissioner for Youth and Sports, chief Tony Uzukwu at Abaja, in Nwangele Local Government Area.
The Delegation led by the former Governor of Imo State, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, ably represented by his Chief of staff, Sir Emma Ohakim said it was on the visit to see how the immediate family of Late Tony Uzukwu was doing, having visited the family during Tony’s burial.
Chief Ohakim said that Tony did not die in vain, as he left a happy family that is growing every day to replicate their father in the future, and promised to continue to support the family at all times.
The former Governor said he elevated Late Tony from Special Adviser to Commissioner because he was a hard working man, and trusted ally, adding that Tony would be always remembered in the politics of  Nwangele LGA because of his numerous  contributions, even though he died at a young age.
Responding on behalf of the Uzukwu family, Tony’s elder brother, Bar Jude Uzukwu thanked the visitors for making out time to visit them, but lamented that Peoples Democratic Party PDP which Tony fought for and died during the last election was yet to visit the family and show its sympathy.
Bar Uzukwu disclosed that it was unfortunate that the Knights of Catholic Church refused to give Tony his last respect simply because he worked for PDP during the last election, and pleaded that such act should not have come from the Church.
On the visit include Sir Emma Ohakim, Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri, Prof Chiedozie Eze, Engr Ben Ekwueme, Bar Rex Anunobi, Dr Kelechi Okpaleke, Bar CJ Ehemedu, Chief Isaac Anyim, Chief Golden Nwokoma, Hon Tony Okere, Mrs Nina Nwulu, Mrs Ngumezi, Bar Willie Amadi, Hon Clinton Amadi, Mr Henry Ekpe, chief Boni Ebili, Hon Gerry Ogu, Hon Ozuruigbo OZB, Sir Roy Iwuala, Chief  Kevin Agbaegbu, Prof Ogbonna, Chief Emma Odor, Chief Zik Martins Nnadozie, and too many others.
