Suspected OCDA Officials Invade Somachi Park

Over twenty hoodlums in the early hours of Wednesday invaded Somachi Park on Owerri, Egbu Road, near Owerri, the Imo State capital vandalizing houses, valuables and raped some helpless female traders.

Narrating the ordeal, the Chairman, Association of Luxury Buss Owners of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter, Chief Bencool Ezeanya O, said that at the early hours of Wednesday 4th June 2013, some unknown hoodlums came into the park, destroyed houses, valuables and raped some helpless females who are resident in the park.

Chief Ezeanya stressed that two of the invaders who were caught in the act have been handed over to the police for investigation over the incident. They allegedly confessed that they came from OCDA. The persons apprehended with OCDA ID card that are in Owerri Urban Police, include Biggy Oguike, and one Prince Onyeulor.

The hoodlums numbering not less than twenty (20) entered through the gate armed with dangerous weapons including axe, rods and machetes and ransacked the entire place. The LUBOAN boss alleged that the invaders made away with fridges and monetary items within the period the action lasted.

The Chairman maintained that they are at alert in terms of security adding that the invasion is condemnable as the matter between the association and Chief Chikwe. “We are tenants to SOMACHI Investment and Chief Chikwe but he wants to eject us without due process”

When contacted, the General Manager of OCDA, Hon Ifeanyi Abiaekwume, said the suspected vandals were not staff of OCDA as their identity cards which portray them as staff of OCDA are fake.
