It hit Imo State as a sweet breeze, when it filtered out that one of the youngest Lawmakers in Nigeria, Hon Chike Okafor has emerged the Deputy Chief whip of the present 8th House of Representatives.
Okafor who is representing Ihitte Uboma/ Ehime Mbano and Obowo Federal Constituency, Imo State, was said to have emerged a principal officer following three factors. One, he was the one who moved the motion for the emergence of Rt Hon Dogara to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives; Two, he is of Dogara’s camp, and finally he happens to be a few of the All Progressive Congress APC Lawmaker from the Southeast, where the APC could not produce a Senator, but about three members of House of Representatives.
Chike Okafor, a first time Federal Lawmaker, and former Commissioner for Finance, Imo State, was also a former Bank officer, with Zenith Bank.
