Chief Mike Nwachuwku has thrown his Hat into the ring for the 2019 election, and he is running for Owerri Senatorial seat.
The Business Mogul of repute made his intention known during the weekend when he declared at the Ward level as a means of consulting his immediate constituency first before delving out.
The occasion took place at Egbelu Obube Community School playground, which is under Obibiezena/Ulakwo/Agbala (OAU) Ward in Owerri North Local Government Area, Imo State.
Nwachukwu who is running under the platform of All Progressive Congress APGA, assured that he will later take his consultation to the LGA, Federal Constituency before he hits the Senatorial level.
Nwachukwu said he considers himself as a servant of the people and therefore choose to work for Owerri Senatorial zone, where if elected would move to Abuja and become the strong voice that will demand for all constitutional rights that accrue to Owerri people.
“My Agenda for Owerri is to provide effective representation for Nde Owerri zone anchored on taking full advantage of the Federal Government Budgetary process which I understand very well, to attract the full dividends of democracy for our Senatorial zone in particular, for Imo State and for southeast in general” he said.
Nwachukwu maintained that it was high time Owerri zone sent her best to the Senate, adding that what the Senatorial zone needs now is a man of his technocratic experience and political pedigree having been the State Secretary of APGA before.
“I will be the strong voice in the senate chambers that Imo State and Owerri zone in particular has so many years lacked in the National Assembly” the former Banker said.
He maintained that he will always remember where he comes from, as he will not let political power alienate him from the grassroot, where he is usually comfortable with the masses.
