Rotary Club of Owerri Royals Install Onyeali 4th President,1st King

Over the weekend  the members of Rotary club of Owerri Royals  , family friends and invitees converged to witness  the installation ceremony of Rtn Obidinma Onyeali KSC PHF as the 4th president of Rotary Club of Owerri Royals .                                 The event which was enshrined with    the induction of new members, inauguration of the Board of Directors, launching for the rotary year service projects and conferment of Distinguished Service Awards to deserving personalities took place  at The Place Events Centre, off PortHarcourt Road behind Great wood Hotel, Owerri.

In his inaugural address on the occasion, Rtn Onyeali noted “As I stand before you today as the president of the Rotary Club of Owerri Royals I’m reminded of why I joined Rotary in the first place. I was drawn by the powerful combination of service, fellowship and the potential for real impact in our communities. Rotary’s mission to “Service above self resonated deeply with me. I wanted to be part of a group that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives whether locally in our communities or globally”.

He disclosed that as the president of the club, his goals are to amplify their service impact in society, strengthen bonds among the members and ensure that they are making meaningful connection in their community and promised to consolidate all the developmental projects that Rotary Club of Owerri Royals had carried out in the past years

 

“To make the foregoing possible, we have identified and selected projects from the purpose. It is pertinent to note that these projects are in line with the Rotary International Area of focus mapped out to help our communities including Maternal and child health care N1,170,000, Membership and club development N400,000,  Basic education and literacy improvement N4, 200,000, Economic and community development, N7,800,000, Disease prevention and eradication, N7,400,000, Vocational service, N950,000, Peace building and conflict prevention, N500,000, Public water sanitation and personal hygiene, N5,400, 000, Environmental sanitation, N150,000, Newspaper publication, N250,000 and Youth education- oriented service N900,000”, he emphasized.

The President appealed to the members of the club to partner with him and create something epic and tell story of compassion, of action, of community by building the the better society we want through our humanitarian service, financial support and unity of purpose, stressing that together, they can achieve more than  they could alone, creating a ripple effect of positive change in their communities and beyond, break barriers, leave a big mark worthy of emulation and actualize together the 8th wonder of the world.

Rtn Onyeali pointed out that this rotary year will be the most amazing, fruitful and impacting year in their history, and called on rotarians to turn this year into the most satisfying period of their lives. “Let us together achieve our goals, inspire and motivate rotarians to reach goals to expand the reach of our organization by increasing membership”, he pleaded.

Rtn Onyeali noted that today, the need to serve has become even more necessary and apparent due to harsh economic situation and therefore appealed to the guests and awardees to continue to serve people and humanity and help to change their lives, and with the theme of this rotary year “Unite for Good”, he urged them to unite with the club members and inspire them to carry out all these projects that have sustained impact on the lives of beneficiaries, reminding them that to live for others, to care for others, to serve others and change their lives is the best way to live our lives.

In her valedictory speech on the occasion, the outgoing president, Rtn Barr Winifred Chinonye Osuigwe stated “When I took up the mantle of leadership in July, 2024, we began with great energy at our inaugural fellowship, setting the tone for a year filled with service, fellowship and impact. Together, we nurtured the membership through engaging fellowships, celebrated birthdays, told our rotary story and joined in polio awareness campaign.        Continuing , the Installation committee Co- Chairman Rtn. Vivian   Obasi,  PHF  who also doubles as the Charter President of the club , expressed happiness on the success of the event . On the journey so far she said ” The installation committee has packaged this installation with lots of love and positivity for your comfort ” she submitted.                             In furtherance wife of the celebrant   Lady Gift Uche  Onyeali said ” I feel so happy so elated as my Wonderful husband is being installed as the club President , as she wishes him a successful tenure.
