In its effort to reposition some of the Federal agencies and parastatals in the country, the federal government has announced no fewer than eight Imo citizens as Chairmen and members of the boards.
Leading the pack of the politicians on this lists are the wife of the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Barrister Mrs Chioma Ohakim who is to Chairman Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation.
Others are the past Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Goodluck Nnanna Opiah and world known actor Kanayo O. Kanayo who are to Chairman Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute and National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Studies respectively.
Also to act in the capacity of board member in the new dawn include Barrister Uche Igbokwe, Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, Chief Chuma Nnaji, Universal Basic Education Commission as Commissioner and Hon Chief Stephen Ahaneku, National Mathematics Centre.
A statement issued to this effect by the Secretary to the Federation Chief Senator Pius Anyim Pius said that the formal inauguration of the boards will be communicated in due course by the Supervising Ministries.
