All is now set for the second edition of the annual Mbaise Unity Lecture powered by Mbaise Consultative Assembly (MCA) an umbrella group of the Ezuruezu Mbaise social-cultural group that has the mandate to move Mbaise nation forward.
The event which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 14 at Hilman Castle Hotel Afor-Oru in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area is designed to consolidate on the gains of the maiden edition that had Dr Agulanna (the author of Mbaiseness) lecture on issues that can move Mbaise forward.
According to a release made available by the National Public Relation Officer, Chief Jimmy Ibeh, the lecture will have in attendance many sons and daughters of Mbaise nation including notable politicians from and around Imo State, as Barr Uche Obilor will be delivering a key note with the theme; MBAISE-THE LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES.
In a special chart with Chief Ibeh at his Oformba Lodge in Nnarambia Ahiara, he stated that this year’s lecture will help to consolidate on the gains of last year’s edition (Maiden) as many interest groups are coming together with a high level of consciousness and awareness to chart the way forward for Mbaise block.
Still speaking, Ibeh noted that the theme for this year’s edition is timely especially now that Mbaise nation is shopping for a credible and well accepted son or daughter that will take over the administration of Douglas House as the Governor of Imo State come 2015.
He however accused the present Governor of the State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha of marginalization, short sighted and sentimental with his style of administration to Mbaise nation stating that Okorocha cannot point out any tangible thing he has done for Mbaise people.
According to him (Ibeh), Mbaise people has only one agenda which is the mandate “Mbaise for Governor 2015” and there is no compromising on that “I have said and will continue to say it without apologies to our brothers in Imo State, we are pleading with different interest groups across the three zones in the state for support and if it means me becoming the Nelson Mandela of South Africa who lived to see a better life of his people so be it”, Chief Jimmy lamented.
