Preamble:
Socrates, one of the most influential early Philosophers, professed that “an unexamined life, is not worthy living”. This moral injunction unarguably, calls for a re-examination of our daily lives and aligns us to a right cause, for an authentic existence. This is true because “there is no good way to live a bad life”.
Unfortunately, some people today, live higher than life itself, as if there is no tomorrow. They anchor such life on bad faith, denial, greed, avarice, evil, double standard, falsehood, blackmail, and other forms of vices.
Recently, Mr. Samuelson Iwuoha, former Senior Special Assistant to the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly on Media and later Special Duties made some guerrilla’s press releases attacking the person and the office of the Rt. Hon. Speaker. Our people are intelligent and cannot be fooled again by his antics, as his current actions belie his acclaimed social crusader status, thereby, revealing him as not better than any street hustler with media contacts intent on blackmail. We do not wish to refer to his antecedents, because, history sometimes suffers amnesia.
The Office of the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly deliberately, refused to join issues or make comments as a way of reply to Samuelson’s vexatious falsehood write- ups; but we have considered it necessary at this point to briefly say one or two things because as our local adage says that “an old man does not stay at home and she-goat gives birth in her tether” and further, we are pushed by what Steven Vichezey, said in his book “The Rule of Chaos” that “when so many things are taken for granted, it next to impossible to perceive the truth”. The truth we know is constant and ontological. In this abridged presentation, we are pushed by the truth, to say that;
Point One: Samuelson’s Grouse and Grievances.
It is pertinent to note that Samuelson’s grouse and grievances arouse as a result that;
 His unpaid one month salary while on suspension must be paid against the ethics of a workplace.
 The imprest attached to the office of SSA Media should be re-allocated to his new office SSA Special Duties.
 A car must be provided to his new office, even when the demands and needs of that office do not arise.
 He refused till date to hand over to the new Media Aide the accoutrements and facilities attached to the Media Unit, including the keys of the official vehicle of the Media Unit, because he believes that heading the Media Unit is his birth right.
 He was stopped from using his position in the office of the Speaker to peddle gossip and attack his perceived political enemies.
Point Two: Alleged Fraud.
Many right thinking persons would find that Samuelson’s unfounded write ups about fraud in the office of the Speaker, in all tones, tenor, contents and contexts are of his manipulations for his self serving objectives. He (Samuelson) received imprest for the Media Unit and disbursed them when he was the Media Aide, is the same way the new Media Aide, (Mr. Emeka Ahaneku) receives and disburses the same. If Samuelson is accusing anybody of fraud, that means he should also be seen as committed the same fraud. Till date, no media house attached to the House of Assembly has accused Mr. Ahaneku of withholding monies due to them. Instead, it was Mr. Ahaneku who has painstakingly paid all the unpaid stipends to Correspondents and working hard towards offsetting the debts owed to Publishers, even when the monies had been earlier released to Samuelson Iwuoha the then Media Aide by the Office of the Speaker. The Media Unit is open, even to a non journalist to understand their operation. It is verifiable.
Point Three: The Phenomenology of a Relationship and The Making of A Speaker.
(a) The Phenomenology of A Relationship:
Samuelson did over dramatize his relationship with the Rt. Hon. Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu. When he said that “he (Samuelson) saw Benjamin Uwajumogu in himself….” . He further said, he saw himself as Benjamin Uwajumogu. He saw himself as the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly. He saw himself as the emerging Philosopher King in Benjamin Uwajumogu……”, are all fables of irrationality.
Whatever he had in mind was probably aimed at describing the love the Speaker may have lavishly showered on him. Anything beyond that relationship or in description of the appearance of his relationship with the Rt. Hon. Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu is unbridled assault on the Speaker. Samuelson and Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu have really nothing in common, cannot be compared and are no equals, even if Uwajumogu was not a Speaker. Chief Ben Uwajumogu we know, has a name, a long built reputation and is not an empty person. He has created a niche for himself. In the Private Sector, he was a captain of numerous successful businesses, served on numerous boards including the Nigeria Shippers’ Council and commands broad political fellowership; having been a pioneer Chairman of the defunct Social democratic Party (a winning party then) in Ihitte/Uboma LGA in 1990. Samuelson Iwuoha’s relationship with Rt. Hon. Chief Uwajumogu was by accident. They were never friends. Their relationship emerged out of the conspicuous attribute that have popularized Uwajumogu as “Odokara Ome”,- that is, his goodwill to assist people at all times, whether he knows them or not. It was on this note that Uwajumogu had passion on Samuelson, when they first met. There are other people, Uwajumogu does not know, but equally engaged in his office because he saw the need and there were ready to add value to the Rescue government. Samuelson was lucky to have been one of them.
(b) The Making of A Speaker:
We cannot understand the “ridiculous” effort Samuelson made for Uwajumogu to become the Speaker. We do not know Samuelson as a Political Bulldozer in Imo State. We never knew Samuel to belong to any Political block or circle in Imo State to make somebody a Councillor in Nkwerre his home town, not to talk of a Speaker of a State House of Assembly. Whatever, Samuelson thought he did to stop other persons or interests from emerging the Speaker was a very naïve thinking and self stupefying. Samuelson Iwuoha should note that in his confession (as in his “see Google: who is the next Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly?”), he advised Owelle to pick the Speaker from any zone, since zoning breeds mediocrity. If Owelle and other political stakeholders had relied on Samuelson’s recommendation, Uwajumogu perhaps, may not have been the Speaker today.
Uwajumogu became the Speaker by God’s design, votes of his honourable colleagues and support of His Excellency, the Governor.
Out of sympathy, Mr. Speaker did delay in making changes in the Media Unit, even, at the half way of his administration, until, it was noticed that despite several oral and written warnings, Samuelson was still abusing his office and using the platform of his exalted position to abuse and fight his perceived enemies. Eventually, Mr. Iwuoha was reassigned to the office of Special Duties, for which he drew umbrage and started making stealth attacks on the office of the Rt. Hon. Speaker, using ghost names and making himself to hack writers in a bid to “punish” the Rt. Hon. Hon. Speaker and to attract sympathy and attention.
(C) Envy Of Other Speakers:
We do not know where Mr. Iwuoha fathoms his thoughts that he was making Mr. Speaker the envy of his colleagues across the country. The Rt. Hon. Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu is not the Chairman of the Conference of Speaker of the Speakers’ Nigerian Legislatures. The only envy Uwajumogu could have caused of his colleagues across the country, is his ability to maintain a cordial relationship between the Legislature and the Executive for the stabilization of the good governance in Imo State and the infrastructural achievements of this administration. Any other thing Samuelson thinks he added, must have come from his convoluted mind.
Point Four: Suspension and Resignation.
When Samuelson Iwuoha used the article on the Rt. Hon. Speaker in commemoration of his 48th birthday in July 2013. In his usual manner, to attack some prominent citizens of Imo State, he left the substance and chased the shadow, making undignified commentaries on some dignitaries in Imo State , which in the main was not related to the issue he was writing on, he was asked to step aside.
Before this, he has also used through his position as a Media Aide to make unsavory comments on some public affairs analysts in the State. Otherwise, as soon as he was reassigned, ”Heaven halth know no fury”; furious as he was, he saw it as a battle he must fight to go back to the position. He was eventually suspended and we might add that till date nobody in the office of Speaker has seen Samuelson’s resignation letter, of course, he has the right to put up resignation, if he wishes and that does not call for public outcry. He should be reminded of the glorious advice of Pope John Paul II- “People need to come out of their anonymity and fear….., to walk in safety along the paths of life, to be found again, if they have become lost”.
Point Five: Impeachment Plot.
Mr. Samuelson Iwuoha claims he single handedly with his Cult boys stopped the impeachment of the Rt. Hon. Speaker on the floor of the house.
Impeachment plot is not a “Tale by Moonlight”. It could only be executed at the floor of the House. Samuelson was not a member of the House. He does not make comments or contribute to the proceedings of the House. To say that he stormed the House of Assembly with his Cult Boys and stopped the impeachment was taking even his convoluted mind and imagination out of his normal fraudulent league. Do we need to look far to see the mental state of this Man?. For a man who calls himself a social crusader, defender of truth and conscience of the state, to fraudulently admit albeit that he commands and belongs to a secret cult, which he uses to stop phantom impeachment plots, is indeed truly stupefying.
Point Six: My Memo: The Truth.
I have addressed in this brief serially, the contents and contexts of that unfounded write up. But for more emphasis; genuine truth is not just constant, but sacred and eternal, though relative. At all times, it must be ontological and embedded in the natural principles. Only last week, I chatted with Samuelson online and reminded him that he knew that there was no fraud in Speaker’s Office by the Chief of Staff, Ahaneku and or any other Aide. He replied me that “you know truth is constant”. I replied him that truth is not just constant, but genuinely to be true and constant depending on who is professing it and where it is being professed. I gave him an analogy of the popular confession among the Christendom that “Jesus is Lord”. This is a truth, only to the Christians. Does the same truth make any meaning to a Moslem faithful? A lair cannot be seen to profess truth.
Point Six: Our Stand:
By a way of conclusion, we say, we have heard it all. We have seen it all. Politics is like a market or forest whose order, beauty, charm and mystery can only intrigue the discerning. If it is a market, you will see all kinds of products and calibers of people buying and selling. If it is a forest, you will get all types of dangerous and mild animals. We are not advising Samuelson not to write. There is Freedom of Information law in the society, but, be that as it may, we must exercise restraint the way we portray innocent people.
It is just unfortunate, that Samuelson Iwuoha who was for the first time in his life given an opportunity by Mr. Speaker to rise above his pedestrian position, is today peddling falsehood against the Speaker, sending him threat messages using SMS bothering on blackmail and professing harm via his headship of cult group. The Rt. Hon. Speaker has the right to reshuffle his team at any point in time; which is a regular administrative practice in our current democracy. This has never called for an uproar. He has often told the whole world that he will be relevant for 2015. Perhaps one of the ways for establishing his relevance is by exhibition of his usual negative stock in trade and may be, his attempt to eliminate the Rt. Hon. Speaker. But, “he who swallows pestle will sleep standing up”.
NB: The office of the Rt. Hon. Speaker will not make any further comments on Mr. Samuelson Iwuoha and his guerilla’s press releases bothering on Fraud, the alleged claim of threat to his life along with his threats to life of the Rt. Hon. Speaker; as we have briefed our legal team and forwarded same to the security agencies for investigations.
