Despite the legal action instituted by one of his challengers for the Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency seat, Hon Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe will be spending about N40m to cater for various empowerment schemes for his constituents.

This revelation was made public during the constituency briefing held at his Ogwuama – Ahiazu country home of House of Rep members.  Speaking at the event which drew crowd of stakeholders, Igbokwe said the N40m will be used to cover women and youth empowerment programs, as well as scholarship to deserving students.

Igbokwe used the event to introduce four young men who were offered scholarship to study overseas and another thirty undergraduates awarded scholarships to study in different tertiary institutions inNigeria.

The member of the National Assembly used the occasion to re – assure his constituents of his electioneering campaign promises, stating that each electoral ward would have a functional water borehole powered by solar energy adding that road projects and solar energy powered street lights are underway in the constituency.  Igbokwe further promised that contractors and workmen would be sourced from the communities that would host these projects.

While informing the people that he would be having quarterly briefings, he appealed to politicians of Ahiara Mbaise extraction to eschew politics of bitterness and vindictness stating that of all the 360 members in the House of Representatives, he is the only one in the Tribunal as the people of Ahaizu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency lost glaring opportunities when the court cancelled the April 2011 election.

The Deputy Chairman, House committee on FCT,Abujafurther disclosed that every ward in his constituency would be entitled to a project before the end of 2015.

Contributing, some key stakeholders who spoke at the event commended Igbokwe for his humility and love for constituency.  Dr. IK Osondu from Ezinihitte noted that the people have trust and confidence in Igbokwe’s sincerity while Chief Paddy More Anyanwu from Ahiazu observed that there is no doubt that the Ogwuama-born politician will offer effective representation to the people.  Dr. Obioma Ekennia of the Imo State House of Assembly urged Igbokwe to continue the good works and assured him of support.
