In continuation of the recent fortunes that has smiled at the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, in Imo State, with the latest defection of heavy weights to the party, another big fish, Chief Humphrey Anumudu joined the APGA fray in Imo State this week.
However, Chief Anumudu’s arrival has sent shivers down the spine of many APGA Chieftains, especially those hoping to use the party to actualize their gubernatorial ambitions in 2019.
Sources told Trumpeta that despite Anumudu being a big catch for the party, his presence is causing ripples because he is seen as a potential Governorship material whose arrival may change the political equation of Imo APGA Aspirants in 2019.
Trumpeta learnt that Imo politicians mostly of Owerri extraction are seeing APGA as the easiest route to enter Douglas House in 2019.
It was learnt that already before Anumudu arrived, Imo APGA had welcomed Guber hopefuls like Senator Bright Nwanne, Chief Frank Nneji, Chief Okey Eze, Chief Alex Obi, Bar Charles Onyeagbako, Hon Uche Onyeagocha and others. Meanwhile, Trumpeta was informed that Anumudu’s presence has set panic among the prospective Governorship aspirants, giving an indication that the Imo APGA Guber primaries will be hotly contested.
