New Sports Commissioner, Ohiri Charges Council Staff on Positive Attitude ..Gives Quite Notice to Illegal occupants In Dan Anyiam Stadium

Following the approval by the state Governor owellw Rochas Okorocha to upgrade the state sports council to a full fledged ministry, the newly appointed commissioner of sports, Dr Mastins Ohiri has charged staff of the new ministry to embrace a new attitude to their duties.

Addressing the management and staff of the council on Wednesday, December 14, 2017 at the grasshoppers Int’l stadium, owerri Dr ohiri was full of praise to the state Governor for his magnanimity and love for sports which he said was evident with the elevation of the sports council from a parastatal to now a full ministry thanking Owelle for finding him (a youth) worthy to be in charge of affairs.

Dr Ohiri while advicing the staff on the need to change their orientation about the Governor’s love for sports pointed out that part of the problems the sports sector has been having in the state is largely caused by the negative attitude some of the staff and our facility users have exhibited calling for a positive change.

The new sports commissioner who described the stadium as the image maker of every state expressed concern over the delapidated nature of the area reading riot acts on measures and ways to restore the image of the stadium community adding that sports people are a veritable source of happiness and so should behave like one.

Declaring to rid Dan Anyiam of illegal occupants in no distance time , Dr Ohiri charged such persons to quite the hostels and space they are illegally occupying for the right athletes and personnels promising to meet with all heads of department and the various sports associations to appreciate their problems while looking for a lasting solution.

Responding on behalf of the ministry, Mrs Chizotam Agbonma Aretola in their separate speeches assured the new commissioner of their support to chart a new positive change to move ministry forward.

The event was heavily attended by the management and staff of the new ministry who all expressed their joy over new statue.
