The management of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede is making positive arrangement to put a strip to the inhuman treatment and exploitation melted to their students by some Hostels owners and indigenous landlords.

Feeler reaching Campus Gist has it that the management is not happy about the inhuman exploitations and making arrangement to have a meeting with the Hostel owners and indigenous landlords to iron out issues concerning, Hostel/house rent, security of students, welfare and environmental hygiene of Hostels and houses among other issues.

It was revealed that the Management of the school is not happy that most of the houses and hostels does not have good and modern toilet, drainage system let alone standard rooms yet the students are made to pay an alarming rate of N30, 000 to N50, 000 per room annually and N55, 000 to N20, 000 per hostel self contain room annually.

The management, believe that these outside houses and hostel, should be seen a means of supporting the school hostel to ease the accommodation problem of students and not for profit maximization as they are life time investments.  They are hoping to take the owners into reducing the prices.  Another plan is to accommodate private sector to build their hostels inside the school compound in other to make their rent very avoidable for students.
