The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Nwangele Local Government Area, Nnorom Nnamdi Charles Esq has described the rumour making the rounds portraying his involvement in the swearing of oath as baseless and scandalous.

Briefing newsmen in Owerri, Nnorom disclosed, that he was invited to the said function, which prompted his decision to attend as an individual, adding that he had no intention of selling the party or to represent Nwangele local government area.

Nnorom said “I didn’t go there to represent the local government area, I went there upon invitation- the bane of contention was how to win PDP elections”.

Nnorom however condemned the act of oath swearing which according to him, is against the tenets of the Christian faith, saying, “As a catholic and a devout Christian, I detest oath taking, the catholic doctrine forbids it. I did not partake in any form of oath taking, I said that in my honour as a practicing Christian, nobody called me to swear an oath”.

The renowned party leader also stated that no politician asked him to swear an oath, adding that the act of swearing, to score cheap political goals is beneath his principles.

“All Aspirants are given free and equal opportunities to contest. Any aspirant who demands our presence will be given an unbiased response. I will oblige” Nnorom said.
