AHIAZU NURTW UNITS HEADS CHARGED ON SANITY

Caretaker Unit Chairmen Ahiazu Mbaise Branch National Union of Road Transport Wokers (NURTW) has been charged to ensure sanity and orderliness in their various divisions.
The LGA NURTW Chairman, Chief John Osuagwu gave the charged while swearing-in the unit chairmen and members at the union secretariat,  Afor Oru, recently.
He underscored need for the union workers to put on uniform always to differentiate themselves from touts and infiltrators who perpetrate illegalities under disguise.
The NURTW helmsman who is also the area Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) and Co-ordinator Mbaise Unit Federal Road Safety Special Marshal, admonished the members to be disciplined, law abiding and render useful information to the police to help reduce crime to the barest minimum.
He reminded them that the sale of alcohol in motor parks was still enforce and cautioned against drunk driven, over loading, over speeding, reckless driving and wrong overtaking.
Chief Osuagwu enjoined drivers to be road safety conscious, respect other road users and obey traffic rules and regulations for accident free ember months.
He restated directives to drivers of chartered vehicles to document their movements with the Branch NURTW secretariat and have their photograph with the hiring client and vehicle taken to checkmate numerous risk they face amid growing insecurity in the country.
In separate responses, the unit Chairmen, Mr. Anayo Chukwu, Mr. Innocent Ikeri and Mr. Chinyeaka Kalu for Owerri Taxi/Bus, Ekwerazu-Aba Branch and Aboh-Aba units respectively thanked the LGA NURTW chairman for finding them fit to serve and pledged to work in tandem with other members for desired success.
In a vote  thanks, Ogbor Osisi Unit Chairman, Chief Jonathan Nworji appreciated the leadership style of the LGA NURTW boss and reassured unalloyed loyalty of members.
Other caretaker  unit chairmen, include Messrs. Peter Njoro for Ogbe – Owerri, Geofrey Nwauda (Ogbe – Umuahia – Obizi) and Maximus Onu (Umuahia Bus/Taxi unit).
Mr. Uko Nwabueze was also appointed enforcement officer to liaise with the police and other security agencies in the area discipline defaulters and foster sanity in the transport system.
Meanwhile, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA NURTW boss, Chief John Osuagwu has appealed to the LGA Council to rehabilitate the in and out entrance gates of Eke Ahiara, Afor Oru motor parks as well as floor Afor Ogbe  motor park to reduce traffic congestion.
