ARON, REFORM GROUP GET 30% OF TWO OLYMPIC STADIA COST.

The Imo State ministry of youths and sports on Monday revealed that two reputable construction companies (ARON and REFORM GROUP) have receive about 30% of the total cost for the construction of two Olympic stadia in Orlu and Okigwe.

Addressing the press at the ministries conference room, the state Commissioner for Youths and Sports Hon Kenneth Emelu stated that his Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha in conjunction with the Sports Ministry saw the need to take some pressure off Dan Anyiam stadium by building two other Olympic size stadia in Orlu and Okigwe.

Emelu also informed that work had already began at the sites even before the money was released adding that the job is still at the carcass stage as the two stadia will set Imo purse back to the tune of about 3 billion naira.

He also reiterated his Excellency’s commitment to taking Imo State to a greater height especially in the area of sports given that sports has won more laurels since Owelle assumed office as both Heartland hockey flickers and Heartland football club have maintained the poll in African women Hockey and the Federation Cup competition respectively.

Meanwhile, the Chief representative of ARON, Eng. Adeola Adegune in his reaction assured that his company will do a good job that it is cut out for referring to the Teslin Balogun stadium and the FIFA goal project Astro pitches inAbujaas what to expect from them.

In another related development, the state commissioner also took time to assure Imolites that the state has been preparing seriously for the up coming National sports festival inLagossome time in November.

He revealed that the state will soon be locking horns with their Abia counterparts in zonal elimination games for the festival as from next week.

Imo finished 7th at the last sports festival which was hosted by Rivers state (Gerdern city games).

The Commissioner however assured that Imo must as a matter of fact come home with more medals than before and also finish in a very good position on the final medal table.
