APGA: Aspirants Adopt Ike C Ibe As Consensus Candidate .Wants NWC to Accept Choice

It might not yet be Uhuru for Chief Ifeanyi Araraume as the choice candidate for Imo APGA for the 2019 guber election following the recent statement from some of the aspirants who claimed there was no primary in Imo APGA.

In a briefing with the press yesterday at Barr. Ike C Ibe’s residence behind Concord Hotel, Owerri in New Owerri, the group who spoke through their spokes person, Dr Sam Amadi said they have refused to answer the harmonization proposal from Araraume and the Jerry Chukwueke led committee based on the APGA principles which according to them, has been raped due to the Kangaroo proouncement of Chief Araraume as the party’s guber aspirant even when there was no primary after three attempts.

According to Dr Amadi, 12 Imo APGA guber aspirants attended the meeting which he said went into the “wee” hours but 10 of them were present during the election while 8 casted their votes, which eventually produced the former Obowo House of Assembly member as their consensus candidate. He further stated that the agreement had it that candidates name would be forwarded to the National Working Committee, NWC who they believe will inturn use it to substitute at INEC as the Imo State APGA governorship candidate for the 2019 guber election.

Reacting on the resolution one of the aspirants Barr Ziggy Azike recalled that originally aspirants had agreed that the party’s candidate must emerge from amongst them through a free and fair primary or by a consensus resolution.

Barr Azike who frowned at the recent comment credited to Araraume asking the aspirants to calculate their expenses so he can refund them in other to make the party move forward, also warned that Araraume should rather calculate his expenses so that he can be refunded.

In his own words, the consensus candidate, Barr Ike C Ibe described the statement as an insult to the aspirants stating that there was no primary in the party and so the basis for reconciliation.

While accusing Araraume of distorting the peace and love that has been binding APGA in the state he also deduced that the kangaroo announcement of Araraume chattered the hope of APGA faithful in the state but assured that all hope is not yet lost, promising that the party stands a better chance of clinching the 2019 governorship election come 2019.

Ike C Ibe further assured that APGA is already a brand with the right type of manifesto to Liberate Imo from the shakles of quagmire and decay the present government has dragged Imo to, assuring that good governance shall be restored back in Imo State.

Barr Azike in another vein stated that his emergence was not just democratic but also the voice of the people pointing out that the aspirants are working together to ensure that everything works out very well for the betterment of Imo people.

Meanwhile, the aspirants also stated that in an event were the National Working Committee NWC, refuses to heed to their demand after instructing them to produce a concensus candidate, that they shall swing immediately to plan “B” as their next line of action even as they refused to disclose the nature of the action.

The aspirants who attended the news include; Bar Ziggy Azike, Dr Sam Amadi, Barr Ike C Ibe, Barr Uche Onyeagocha, Nick Oparandudu, Obi Joe Njoku, Frank Nneji, Stanley Amuchie, Bright Nwanne, Humphrey Anumudu, Chike Nsofor and Barr Philip Ibekwe.
