Supporters of Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha otherwise known as the Rescue Mission group Monday became subject of mockery in the eyes of generality of Imolites when they blocked some parts of Owerri crying over the misfortune that befell their camp. They blocked strategic places in the capital city crying over the inability of names of their key members to make the APC National Assembly list as candidate. Residents of the state capital were taken aback on Monday morning when suspected hired supporters of the governor trooped out en masse for a prayer cum solidarity rally in support of the governor and his anointed candidates. Trumpeta learnt that the design to go ahead with such cries and tears was to draw the sympathy of the Presidency and National Working Committee of the party to the effect that Okorocha and his in-law have support base.

This newspaper was informed that before the protest, sponsored radio and TV outlets have were procure to telecast the event where the President and APC chieftains would have a view so as to be influenced to consider the governor’s son inlaw.

After the lamentations amidst road show, the group therefore appealed to the NWC of APC to have sympathy on their members who are contesting election rather than working on favour of the Coalition group who want to put Imo State in crisis.

Those who spoke for the Rescue Mission insisted that the result of the second primaries which gave Uche Nwosu and other Rescue Mission team players victory should be upheld for peace to reign.

“We are appealing to Abuja people to uphold the victory of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu and others.

Dropping the names of Kingsley Uju, Simeon Iwunze, Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri and others who won the National Assembly primaries in Imo State is unacceptable by us”, the Speakers added.
