SILVER SPORTS PARTNERS WITH MBAISE UNITY CUP FOR GRASSROOT SPORTS DEVELOPMENT.

AS the 2012 Mbaise Unity Cup kicked off on Sunday, one of the features of the Opening ceremony was the partnership of the tournaments. LOC now has with Silver Sports.

Silver Sports is a popular TV sports show on PBS cable TV Aba. Speaking with Imo Trumpeta before the commencement of the game, the chairman of the local organizing committee, Mr Nicolas Mba informed that his committee has entered into partnership with Silver Sports, a move which he said will help to give the tournament the credibility it deserves.

The MD of the media Mr. Kennedy Onwunali in his own words promised by saying, “My popular TV sports crew known as Silver Sports is in this partnership with the LOC members of Mbaise Unity cup to help develop the sporting programmes taking place in our grassroot area.

We picked Mbaise unity cup because of its rich organization and the level of football that is exhibited by the teams.

We have concluded plans to ensure that we cover the one month long tournament in our weekly sports show and help the talents that will be discovered from the tournament link up with some of the Nigerian Premier League clubs. Nations Wide league clubs and even clubs abroad,” said Onwunali.

It will be recalled that Silver Sports some time last year in conjunction with Aboh Mbaise local government organized the first grass-root sports award tagged, “Aboh Mbaise Silver Sports award,” were Dr Patrick Ekeji the Director General of the National sports council was honored along with other sports men and women from their locality.
