Tension, Offor Led State Assembly Throws More “Bombs” Today, As House Resumes .ISOPADEC Board Eze Imo Council Face Sack Suspended chairman, councilors poised for showdown.

Rt Hon Chinedu Offor and his team of lawmakers expectedly may take more resolutions and motions that will jolt the political set up as they resume plenary session today.

After observing the two days public holidays, the Red chambers of the Imo State House is expected to come alive again today as the members undertake one of the last legislative exercises to end the session.

It would be recalled that on the first day of the plenary Offor presided, far reaching resolutions that turned certain landmarks of the immediate past government they were part of were adopted, which includes the suspension of the LGA chairmen, Vice Chairmen and councilors as well as asking all appointments Okorocha made after the March 9th election be quashed.

Trumpeta learnt that what was started on Monday, the first day of their sitting will continue on Thursday as the lawmakers undertake further steps to redefine what was left behind by the Okorocha administration.

It was learnt that laws not in tune with desires of Imo people shall be repealed while a deep foray into the affairs of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission shall be reviewed.

Available reports have it that the House may ask that the ISOPADEC board to be dissolved if there are financial irregularities in commissions account necessitated by several petitions against the interventionist agency.

Similarly, another area the lawmakers are said to be looking at is the traditional institution.

This newspaper learnt that the House members may take another view at how the incumbent chairman of the Imo State council of traditional rulers, Eze Samuel Ohiri spent the initial five years and was re-elected. The issue of Eze Imo shall also invoke the lawmakers to go back to the court cases the former chairman, Eze Ilomuanya won against the incumbent and the Imo State Government Okorocha never respected.

Meanwhile, the suspended chairmen, their vice and councilors of the LGAs have rejected the resolution of the governor adding that no law permits the State Assembly members to do so.

A statement from the ALGON, Imo State chapter claimed that they will resist the suspension.
