There are strong indications that the Immediate Past Governor Rochas Okorocha has finally succumbed to pressure from his successor Gov. Emeka Ihedioha after beating the 24 hours deadline mandating him to handover government properties to the current administration .

Trumpeta gathered that the document of about a thousand pages was made public moments after Ihedioha gave an ultimatum asking Okorocha to produce Handover documents.

Ihedioha who accused the former Governor of not being ready to hand over to him gave an order to the Permanent Secretary, and Head of Service under Okorocha, to prepare all the necessary documents and hand them over or have him involve the services of security agencies in making sure that those who served the state must account for it.

However, a source revealed that Okorocha has succumbed to pressure and has given his approval for the released after the governor said he wants the process to be completed by midnight of June 4.

A source disclosed that Okorocha who was initially unconvinced about how serious Ihedioha was but finally bowed to pressure less than 12 hours before deadline.

The governor said “you can’t run a government without a hand over note .There should be a hand over note so I can account for what I recover for the state”.

Ihedioha had on Monday sworn in Secretary to the State Government, Hon .Uche Onyeagocha and his Chief of Staff, Barr. Chris Okewulonu at Government House, Owerri.

The Governor had said he never received any handover documents from his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha.

Meanwhile, it is no longer news that the former governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha left about N42bn in the state coffers for the newly sworn -in Governor, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha.

The twist in the left over fund as Trumpeta gathered is rather comical and difficult to comprehend as questions are imminent.

A break down of the left over N42bn is as follows;

“₦8.1 billion of the money came as state and local government allocations for May, and the money came less than 24 hours to his exit from office, so there was no time to tamper with the money.

“₦5.2 billion came from Paris club refund. Unfortunately for the former governor, EFCC had frozen the account since the election period, so he was been unable to access the funds.

“₦7.6 billion came from UBEC/SUBEB for specific projects. Okorocha as Trumpeta gathered had no direct access to the funds

“₦21.6 billion world bank project fund is not even in the custody of the government, Trumpeta equally learnt.

The money is according to reports with the World Bank for execution of rural roads projects.
